Laura Mulvey believes that music videos are patriarchal and are often used to negatively portray women and sex objects. The male gaze she argues is a way that videos help create this by dismembering the female body. It is common within Hip-Hop video, RnB videos and Grime videos. The dismembering of the women is also how they are able to do it and an example is '2 chainz - birthday song'
