The music industry

The music industry has changed a lot when my parents were teenagers and listening to their favourite artist. Today most record labels are owned by 3 major conglomerates. The first one is Sony Music Entertainment which owns Columbia records, Epic records and Syco Music.

The second conglomerate Warner Music Group owns a large amount of record labels under them they own, Atlantic record, Maverick and Tee Pee records.

The third major conglomerate of music is Universal Music group, they have also recently purchased the 4th major conglomerate which was EMI, it has now been sold to Universal. Under them Universal has Interscope records, Island records and Def Jam recordings.
